“I have never participated in the "Stuff the Bus" event before, but given recent budget cuts I am grateful for the opportunity. I am a Special Education teacher at MCS, and I have multiple grade levels in my self-contained classroom. However most of my students are in the first grade, with a few second and thirds. I really appreciate the opportunity to participate in this event and thank you and everyone involved for your efforts in organizing this for us. With gratitude.”
“Thank you for all that you're doing for the children and teachers in our community! Your help makes a huge difference! My students and I made excellent use of the school supplies last year, so much so that I have been looking forward to coming again this year, if I may. I'm a 2nd grade teacher from Lafayette. With sincere gratitude.”
“I'd like to start off by saying Wanda has been such a blessing putting so much time and energy into helping our community and running stuff the bus here in Sanford. I have 6 kids and she has helped most of them with new back pack and school supplies. More than once. Not only that she allows my kids to volunteer and help learn what it means to help others and be grateful for what you have. I love helping out when I can! Thank you Stuff the bus Sanford and thank you Wanda! Don't forget to ask me when you need help!”
“Wanda and the stuff the bus program has had a huge impact on me and many others in the community! I have been helped over the years with school supplies for my 5 children. She has given me books and educational resources for homeschooling. She has also provided clothing for my children on multiple occasions. Raising a family in a world full of so much greed is no easy task, but Wanda is a light in the darkness!! She provides goods and hope and joy to all around her! My uncle had a house fire and lost everything, as soon as she found out she reached out and provided an entire wardrobe of brand new clothing for him. I've seen her work with teenagers to provide volunteering opportunities for them. And she provides a fun and educational youth group! She tirelessly provide for our youth and families in the community! Thank you Wanda and the stuff the bus program for all you do and for your generous and loving heart for the community ❤️”
“Let me tell you about Stuff the Bus in Sanford, Maine – it's not just a community initiative, it's a heartwarming experience that showcases the absolute best of humanity. As a volunteer, I've had the privilege of witnessing the incredible generosity of our community firsthand. From the bustling streets to the bustling hearts, people come together to donate not just money, but their time and energy to ensure every child starts the school year on the right foot. What truly warms my heart is seeing the youth volunteers buzzing with excitement, eagerly pitching in to make a difference. Their enthusiasm is infectious and reminds us all that kindness knows no age limit. But it's not just about filling backpacks with supplies – it's about empowering these kids. I love how each child is paired with a personal shopper, giving them the freedom to choose their own supplies and backpack. It's a small gesture that speaks volumes, allowing them to express their individualism and start the school year with pride. And let me tell you about Wanda Parent – she's the driving force behind this incredible operation. Her dedication and passion are unmatched, and she runs this program with the precision of a well-oiled machine. But more than that, she's a blessing to our community. Wanda has this uncanny ability to rally the troops, getting everyone motivated and making volunteering an absolute blast. Stuff the Bus isn't just about filling backpacks – it's about filling hearts, fostering a sense of community, and ensuring every child knows they are valued and supported. And for that, we have Wanda and the entire Sanford community to thank.”
